About the event

The world celebrated World Sickle Cell Day on Monday, June 19th. The theme chosen for the 2023 edition was: " Early detection equals better choice ".


From raising awareness, particularly on early detection or electrophoresis, to supporting structures for the care of patients, the First Lady of the Republic has, through her foundation, taken up the fight against this genetic disease.

Last February, Denise NYAKERU TSHISEKEDI laid the foundation stone for rehabilitation and renovation work on the mixed medicine and anemia center commonly known as Centre Mabanga located in the commune of Kalamu, the only public center for the care of sickle cell patients.


To date, the work is progressing normally and everything is being done to ensure that these buildings are delivered on time.

According to the Technical Coordinator of the control office of the Center for Mixed Medicine and Anemia (CMMSS), the completion of the work is scheduled…
