About the event
On May 17, 2026, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern due to the outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) caused by the Bundibugyo strain in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with cases reported in some neighboring countries.
In response to this situation and in order to prevent any risk of introduction and spread of the disease on national territory, the Government of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire informs travellers and airlines that reinforced health control and epidemiological monitoring measures are being implemented at Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport in Abidjan for all passengers arriving from affected countries.
1. Informing travelers before departure
Travelers to Ivory Coast are informed of the health measures in place through several channels, including:
Airlines;
Travel agencies;
